✩Grey Moonstone Mythology, Legends, Lore and History✩
*Grey Moonstone is also known as “New Moon Stone” and carries the mysteries and powers of the New Moon.
*Grey moonstone is a stone of seeing beyond the veil. It is a powerful stone for the clairvoyant and the shaman, assisting you in moving into the unseen realms.
*It is a powerful magnifier of intention.

FAQ: Is Grey Moonstone the same as Rainbow Moonstone?
The scientific name for Rainbow Moonstone is Labradorite, and despite the name it is different from true (Grey) Moonstone, which is called Orthoclase.
Both stones are very beautiful in their own right and are quite similar, but they are different, you could think of them as being Geological "cousins".

✩Rabbit Mythology, Legends, Lore and History✩
*The Moon Rabbit (or Moon Hare) is a mythical figure in Far Eastern folklore who lives on the Moon, based on pareidolia interpretations that identify the dark markings on the near side of the Moon as a rabbit or hare.
*In Aztec culture, there is also a tale for the rabbit being in the Moon.
*In East Asian folklore, the rabbit is seen as pounding with a mortar and pestle, but the contents of the mortar differ among Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese folklore, containing various items to make rice cakes or even immortality elixirs.
*To Native American tribes of the Southwest, the rabbit or desert hare was a symbol of fertility, rainfall, and prosperity.

Jewellery: Materials

I use a variety of metals in my jewellery designs and will always give a detailed description on each item. Here is an an over view of some the the metals I use:

  • Pure Silver, also known as Fine Silver, 99.99% Silver with an allowance for trace elements
  •  925 Sterling Silver, 92.5% pure Silver + 7.5% other metals, usually copper
  • Silver Plated, 925 Sterling Silver plated/coated onto a base metal core, which can be brass, copper, pewter, iron, zinc alloys, tin, alloys
  • 9ct Gold Plated on to 925 Sterling Silver core, also know as Gold Vermeil. I use 9ct Yellow Gold and 9ct Rose Gold Vermeil in some of my designs and also offer optional replacement ear-wires
  • Titanium and Niobium optional replacement ear-wires, which are extremely low-allergenic pure medical grade metals
  • Tibetan Silver refers to a variety of white non-precious metal alloys used primarily in cast jewellery components, with an appearance similar to aged silver. 'Tibetan Silver' includes copper-tin alloys; zinc alloys; and other alloy compositions, as well as base metals with a Silver plating. It is also known as Nepalese silver, white metal, lead-free pewter or tin alloy. For more detailed information please read my blog article: What is Tibetan Silver
  • I also offer a range of other metals such as Bronze, pure Copper, pure Aluminium, Stainless Steel and lead free Pewter in either solid or plated varieties.

Jewellery: Care Instructions

Jewellery should be the last thing you put on the first thing you take off.
Always avoid getting hair products, perfume or chemicals (chemicals can include household cleaning products, some foods such as Lemons or vinegar)
General Advice:
Any metal be-it Sterling Silver, base metals or plated alloys can become dull or tarnished. As a general rule don't get it wet, if you do, dry and polish with a soft cloth. If it goes dull or tarnished, a gentle polish with a non-abrasive Silver cloth will bring it's lustre back. Gems or beads can be wiped with a slightly damp cloth to restore their original lustre.
Certain precious or semi-precious stone may require special care, I will include the information in the items full description or care leaflet.
