✩Cultured Pearls✩
Cultured Pearls are real pearls, they have been made by the mollusc. Once the nucleus (usually a mother-of-pearl bead) is inserted into the oyster or mussels, the pearl growing process is the same as that of a natural pearl. Their outer coatings (Nacre) are the same material as a natural pearl, and they take years to form in a mollusc's mantle. Nacre is formed from iridescent layers of crystallised calcium carbonate. It’s pretty much impossible to tell the difference between a natural and cultured pearl by just looking at its outer appearance. The only way to make absolute certain whether a pearl is natural or cultured is to perform an x-ray of the internal structure of the pearl.
✩Pearl Mythology, Legends, Lore and History✩
Pearls are natural wonders that have been treasured for centuries by cultures ancient and modern around the world. Greek mythology proclaimed pearls to be tears of joy shed by the goddess Aphrodite. Ancient Egyptians associated pearls with Isis, the goddess of healing and life. Pearls are the Birthstone for June and the Zodiac stone for Gemini.

✩Hare Mythology, Legends, Lore and History✩
The myth of the Moon gazing hare reflects ancient beliefs. All over the world the hare is a character in the myths of our ancestors.
It is believed that seeing a moon gazing hare would bring growth, re-birth, abundance, new beginnings and good fortune.
The symbol of the moon gazing hare is almost universally associated with fertility.
The hare has a connection with many lunar deities.
The moon-gazing hare was especially important to early Celtic Britons.
In ancient times hares are often seen depicted in this "moon gazing" pose.
Chinese moon gazing hares were thought of as gazing up at what he/she sees as his ancient ancestor in the moon.
The hare is always associated with the moon and fertility and often associated with immortality, wisdom and bravery.
In China the moon hare carries a mortar and pestle in which she mixes a potion of immortality.
In Africa there is a story of how the moon goddess was so pleased with men and women that she sent the moon hare with a promise of immortality.

✩Variations/findings✩
Because I make all the earrings myself I can be very flexible and offer you a wide range or ear findings to suit your ears in a variety of metals and styles.
These earrings come with very secure silver plated "lever-back" style findings (as pictured) which are suitable for regular/normal pierced ears.
But can be replaced (free of charge) with:
*silver plated large kidney wires, suitable for wearing though gauged tunnels, or if you prefer a longer earring (this will add approximately 2.5cm to the overall length).
For a small extra charge, I can replace the current ear-wires with:
*silver plated non-pierced/clip-on findings.
*ear-wires, in a "Fish/Shepherd's hook" in solid 925 Sterling Silver
*Solid Titanium in a “fish/shepherds hook” style.
Titanium is physiologically inert and thus hypo-allergenic. For this reason, Titanium is found in many internal medical devices. Titanium’s natural colour is a silvery grey. It can can also be electrically heated and anodised, resulting in a wide array of colours using a process known as reactive metal anodising, which is useful in making jewellery. Titanium is strong, lightweight and highly bio-compatible. Anodising creates a thin oxide layer which is just as bio-compatible as polished titanium. There are no other materials added and there is no plating or painting. Titanium is an excellent choice for anyone with sensitive skin, especially for those allergic to nickel, silver or gold.

Jewellery: Care Instructions
Jewellery: Care Instructions
Jewellery should be the last thing you put on the first thing you take off.
Always avoid getting hair products, perfume or chemicals (chemicals can include household cleaning products, some foods such as Lemons or vinegar)
General Advice:
Any metal be-it Sterling Silver, base metals or plated alloys can become dull or tarnished. As a general rule don't get it wet, if you do, dry and polish with a soft cloth. If it goes dull or tarnished, a gentle polish with a non-abrasive Silver cloth will bring it's lustre back. Gems or beads can be wiped with a slightly damp cloth to restore their original lustre.
Certain precious or semi-precious stone may require special care, I will include the information in the items full description or care leaflet.
